Even after…
being a huge Bo Burnham fan since I came across his first video, I can honestly say I was a little disappointed by his performance on Conan last night. Legitimately I found him no later than him having about 4 videos on YouTube and I have been a huge fan on his ever since. It may sound corny, but a large part of the reason anyone in my high school knew about him was because I showed countless people I knew his videos/songs. And even after all that, I can whole-heartily say that I was a bit disappointed at his choice to add very gimmicky material into his act. Yes, I know he only had very little time to do anything. But why the gimmicks? I can understand incorporating gimmicks into an act to make a point and make fun of other gimmicky comedians but was all of that really necessary? He has accomplished that same task in other ways before that were hilarious. Why start the corny stuff now? I am hoping that maybe he used his Conan set to test out some new material and see what the response is. A few of his new jokes from that set were silent among the audience so maybe he’ll negate them from whatever upcoming special he has in store for us. Don’t overdo it Bo. You were great the way you were before your little jingles to lead into a joke. Just be you.
My art appreciation teacher did this today choking on water while speaking, except a lot less awesome
